The 2022/23 La Liga winners have failed to replicate their heroics from last term as they are touted to finish at least six points off the summit before the Christmas break. Their struggle in front of goal has been the biggest problem for the Catalan heavyweights with the likes of Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski struggling for form.

Almeria are seeded at the foot of the Spanish division as they are yet to open their wins account after 17 games. With just five points this season, Almeria are early contenders to drop down from La Liga but they would be hoping to produce a fairytale against Barcelona considering the latter's recent run of results.

Here GOAL brings you everything you need to know about how to watch, including TV channel, streaming details and more.

Xavi would be hoping to see Polish striker Robert Lewandowski rekindle his goalscoring touch before January otherwise winter arrival Vitor Roque could displace him in the lineup.

The Catalan giants remain without Gavi, Inigo Martinez, Marcos Alonso, and Marc-Andre Ter Stegen due to their respective injuries. Dutch superstar Frenkie De Jong will miss the fixture due to his accumulation of yellow cards and former Saints midfielder Oriol Romeu will start for the reigning champions.

Almeria will fail to call upon Lucas Robertone who picked up his fifth booking of the campaign and is also nursing a shoulder injury alongside Gonzalo Melero who has a muscle problem.

Marko Milovanovic, Ibrahima Kone, Marc Pubill, Martin Svidersky and Luis Suarez.are the other absentees for Almeria before their fixture against Xavi's men.

The Catalans haven't managed a win in their last three in all competitions, drawing with Valencia last time out after back-to-back losses against Antwerp and Girona, and they come into this game against Almeria sitting in fourth place and just three points above Athletic Club behind them.

In Almeria, though, Xavi and his side will come up against the basement dwellers of LaLiga EA Sports. They sit bottom with just five points from their 17 games so far, and already look destined for the drop this season.

After scoring only one point in the last two games, FC Barcelona are called to react on Wednesday against Almeria as Xavi's side is currently nine points behind Girona and seven behind Real Madrid. The Blaugrana will face Almeria that are now at the bottom of La Liga table with five points and no wins so far this season.

After 17 rounds of matches are over, Barcelona occupies the third place in the La Liga table with 35 points to their name. They are nine points short of top-placed Girona, while Real Madrid are holding the second spot with 42 points. Barcelona will need to show more consistency as they aim to claim their 28th Spanish league title this season.

In their previous La Liga appearance, Barcelona played out a 1-1 draw with Valencia away from home. Joao Felix gave the visitors a lead at the start of the second half. But Xavi’s men couldn’t hold on to that lead for long, with Valencia’s Hugo Guillamon making it all square in the 70th minute. Meanwhile, Almeria have yet to win a match in this La Liga season. They are reeling at the bottom of the points table with 5 points.

Their most recent outing concluded in a 1-1 draw against Valencia, occurring amidst the revelation that they are slated to confront Napoli in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 in mid-February.

On the other side, Almería is bottom with only five points in seventeen matches. They have won yet in the current season and are serious relegation candidates. The red and white side is coming off a 0-0 draw against Mallorca in their most recent presentation.

Barcelona faced Valencia CF away from home in its last game and the teams drew, 1-1. Barcelona took 17 shots, outshooting Valencia by six. Barcelona got its goal from Joao Felix in that match versus Valencia.
